Reproductive Health

As a woman, and as the mother of three daughters, I understand just how complex and difficult decisions about reproductive choice can be. Like Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I believe that the decision of whether to bear a child "is central to a woman's life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When Government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for her own choices."

I am very proud to have played a part in passing the Reproductive Health Act, which ensures the Illinois women's rights and autonomy will be protected. I am unabashedly pro-choice, and I believe the majority of people in our district share my view that women can be trusted to make their own decisions about our health and our lives.
